In April we had the pleasure of hosting the launch of the book Casada i callada by the Valencian writer and journalist Emma Zafón. The event was organised by Valencians UK.
At this event, held in Catalan, Emma talked about her reasons for writing the book. Casada i callada explains what life is like for a young woman from a small village in the Valencian countryside during the 70s and beyond, with a special focus on romantic relationships and the women’s role in these. Attendees were able to ask her questions about the process of writing the novel and shared their views and feelings after reading the novel, which author Maria Climent describes as “tender, funny, raw and sadly authentic”.
